Wow, oh what a night!
Gareth Rowlands, founding director of Industry Events Online, could not believe his luck last night as not only did Industry Events Online receive the prestigious award for "Most Innovative Solutions Provider"at this years Compliance Register Platinum Awards Ceremony, but he also got to rub shoulders with the rich and famous!
The world renowned and very entertaining Rick Wakeman of 70's and 80's popular progressive rock bank "YES" took pride of place at the table that Gareth was also kindly invited to as a guest of Wolters Kluwer Financial Services.
Speaking about the win Gareth said:
"I'd like to say a huge thank you for all those who voted for us and I am absolutely delighted at winning tonight especially as we were up against such stiff well established competition. Also I'd like to thank Compliance Register's Chairman, Ben Goh, for organising such a wonderful event that was very well attended and especially for giving me the opportunity to enjoy dinner with Rick Wakeman no less.
He continued: "We are a very new start up but already the industry is keen to embrace what we are trying to achieve as it recognises the difficulty many have in finding relevant financial services training courses and financial services events or even a financial services and finance dedicated website that caters for just these industries alone without being diluted by non related content.
"Winning this award is more than I could have expected for such a new business that hasn't even been running a year. We are so delighted in fact we are already thinking of sponsoring our own table for next year's event which has provisionally been booked for 19 November 2015."
The Compliance Register's Chairman, Ben Goh, speaking of last nights awards ceremony said:
“With a record turnout this year, I am very grateful for the support that this event has attracted from our industry. It was a great evening and besides recognising excellence, we also raised funds for a number of selected charities, principally Breast Cancer Care, Guide Dogs for the Blind, MIND and Macmillan Cancer Support. Most worthy of note is the £500 raised by the auction of the signed England Football Team T-Shirt which was kindly donated by Arsenal legend Martin Hayes.”
